Bob Meyer
This Years Recipient Bob Meyer has given 34 years to the service with
18 of those years as an instructor. Besides teaching on this individuals own fire department, this dedicated instructor teaches firefighters from the county, regionally and around the state.
Bob teaches a variety of subjects for recruits and the leadership and administration of our fire departments. Firefighter I & II, Preparing for Initial Company Operations (PICO), Leadership 1, 2 & 3, Pump operation, NIMS, and anything else this individual is asked to do.
Bob exemplifies the image of what we believe an instructor should be. This individual is more than willing to teach a class where ever and whenever it is.
Bob is also very willing to attend training to further his education and expand the topics that this individual can offer.
When you think of the word involvement, Bob has been involved in the community's Thrashing show and helped with his own departments training and has been on his department for 34 years. His teaching both for Pine Tech and at state schools keeps him on the road a lot and I know keeps him from being more involved within his own community.
The impact that Bob has had on the fire service community by instructing both on the local level and the state level at state schools will be felt for many generations to come. Bob has taught 100's of students over the years and takes great pride in all he does. He is well known and respected throughout the state.
Many current fire department officers and pump operators, including myself, had their start as a student of Almelund Firefighter and Fire Instructor Bob Meyer.
Congratulations Bob!
